Marketing Programs

Not only have we created our own proprietary materials and resources but have partners to help deliver the most experience clients.

CGNA is the largest network of independent controls distributors in North America. Launched in 1983, CGNA’s members stay connected to the top controls manufacturers and distributors in the industry through the programs and events facilitated by the CGNA Management Team. Peer to peer interaction between distributors is a crucial component to the 25 years of CGNA’s success. Developing strong relationships with our preferred vendors is viewed as one of the main purposes of the groups existence.

Unparalleled Expertise

The members of CGNA regularly receive top honors in the HVAC controls industry. The level of expertise is unequalled and both manufacturers and contractors value it. CGNA has built a solid foundation of success by providing opportunities for our members to share with one another their innovative business strategies, leading edge training and marketing & sales ideas.

Member Collaboration

The members and preferred vendors of CGNA are often on the phone with one another to discuss project issues, new products and marketing ideas. The goal is to uncover and answer, “what are the things we can do together that we cannot do alone.” This is a very important strategic question when facing competition of finite markets.

Committees

CGNA committees allow our members a forum with a narrow focus on their business product lines to zero in on concerns, new opportunities, manufacturer issues and industry trends.
The four CGNA committees are:

Systems Committee – commercial building DDC systems
Core Committee – commodity distribution
Burner Boiler Committee – commercial, industrial and residential combustion
Integration Committee – Niagara software platform applications

Member Conferences

CGNA has two main conferences each year. The annual spring conference is a time for networking, education, committees, the preferred vendor trade show, roundtables, guest speakers and executive teambuilding. Spouses are welcome and a golf tournament each year are always enjoyed at a five star resort.

The CGNA Fall Members’ Meeting is a no frills, no spouses, no golf two-day business meeting usually held in the Midwest near an airport for easy accessibility.

Best Business Practices

With the top industry leaders in the room, it’s not hard to figure out why many of the founding members of CGNA are still on board after 25 years. Controls distributors are a unique breed of HVAC businessmen, and they value the opportunity to talk with their peers.

Through two annual conferences, regional meetings, conference calls, committees, and webinars, top distributors from every major market come together to share resources, insights and strategies for building their businesses.

Panel Discussions

Panel discussions allow industry experts to highlight issues and topics in a very effective way. CGNA’s panels and forums are a main activity each year at our annual spring conference. They allow manufacturers and distributors to learn from one another in a casual but structured setting.

Single Point of Contact

For vendors, a key component of CGNA is the ease with which they can communicate with 37 of their top customers. The CGNA corporate office is a single point of contact to the owners and employees at over 150 branches. Programs, promotions, new products and market changes can all be communicated quickly and efficiently through the CGNA network.
