CGNA’s business development effort is focused on supporting our preferred vendors and member distributors to be as successful as possible. All of our marketing programs and technology services are designed to help our manufacturers move their products out to the distributors for sale and installation to the contractor and end user.

As the largest network of independent controls distributors in the nation, we utilize our controls expertise, technology and proprietary techniques to help those in the group to bring to market new ideas as business opportunities.

Business development at CGNA begins with recruiting new Members and Preferred Vendors and then negotiating programs between the two that will grow their bottom line.

Also, we use a number of techniques to create new customers, penetrate existing markets and create new opportunities. The tools include: assessment of marketing opportunities and target markets, intelligence gathering on customers and competitors and business model design. CGNA can help you put your business on a strategic track to get your company out in front of your competition.  

National Account Programs

With a network of controls distributors in every major metropolitan center, CGNA offers national account coverage to manufacturers, building owners and contractors who operate in multiple states. Complimentary certification and product expertise can be coordinated between Members from New York to Los Angeles.

 

Recruiting

CGNA maintains a constant recruiting program each year to find the top controls vendor and distributors in North America. We do however maintain a clear view that CGNA is primarily for distributors who focus on controls and the manufacturers who make them. Currently CGNA has 36 Member distributor companies with over 150 branches nationwide.

Group Purchases

Controls manufacturers may find it beneficial to offer CGNA distributors discounts to purchase large quantities of controls products. Also, CGNA members may approach a vendor and propose a large group purchase. Through CGNA, vendors and distributors work in concert to move products in the most efficient way possible.

Competition Research

CGNA is very aware that every vendor and distributor in the group lives each day in a very competitive world. Therefore considerable time is devoted to evaluating the competitive pressures in the controls world. Industry trends and innovation are considered and shared as the combined effort of each participant seeks to contribute to the strength and understanding of everyone. No one company can track all that is happening in any given industry. However, the combined insights of 37 distributors with 51 vendors and a contractor customer base of over 85,000 is certainly a large number of antennas.
